All of our road transfer partners use ambulances that are equipped and maintained to NHS standards and are able to offer inter-hospital road transfers around the UK as well as ground repatriation to/from nearby Europe. Their experienced drivers and our on-board medical staff are superbly trained and maintained to strict standards to ensure that the patient always receives the absolute best quality of care.
We have developed our network of providers so that our medical management and operations teams are able to respond quickly and effectively to any requirement that comes in for a prompt return for continued care at the receiving destination.
Road transfers are an integral part of all patient transfers and occasionally a more suitable alternative to a transfer by air e.g. if the patient has a fear of flying. Without the need to book a private air ambulance, road transfers often are a more cost-effective method of transport, however, the patient’s needs will always be the deciding factor.
Road transfers are also sometimes more logistically suitable, for example when the overseas destination is nearby or when the patient is located too far from an airport or the nearest airport does not have the capability to accept an air ambulance aircraft.
Our due diligence process when onboarding a new provider onto our network is robust and we are able to make our services available to assistance and repatriation companies looking for support in transferring a patient to or from airports during their own repatriation missions.
